The Thief of Joy
“Comparison is the thief of joy”
~ President Theodore Roosevelt ~
There was a time when I didn’t totally understand how comparison could steal my joy. Then I got a new car. Loved all the new features, the keyless entry and start, the bluetooth phone connection, the backup camera. Then, a friend showed me their new car with the heated leather seats, the surround sound stereo, the side cameras, and all of the sudden, I wasn’t quite so happy with my car.
In life and business, there will always be someone or something that could be perceived as better than what we have. To find true joy, we need to decide to be content in what makes us happy. Joy is found when we choose to be happy and ignore the distractions.
