Defeat Procrastination in 1 Simple Step
“Never put off till tomorrow what may be done day after tomorrow just as well.”
― Mark Twain
Do You Know What Most People’s Favorite Day Of The Week Is?
TOMORROW
Tomorrow, I will start that diet
Tomorrow I will begin exercising
Tomorrow I will get my taxes done
Tomorrow
Tomorrow
Tomorrow
And Guess What!?
Tomorrow never comes!
Have you ever fallen prey to “Tomorrow”?
Human tendency is to make decisions based on how we feel right now. So, sometimes we are super stoked, ready to make change, and we decide on a plan of action, and we say – “okay, I got this. I will start this tomorrow”
Then
we go to sleep. We wake up the next day…And…”Ugh, I don’t feel like it right now!” So, what happens – No Follow Through.
What we have to remember is that, we are never gonna feel like doing the things that we need to do to change the results that we are getting in our lives and to have the success that we want to have!
And guess what!? No one is gonna make you either.
The only person who can change the vicious cycle of setting goals and not taking action, is you!
Until you understand that you are going to have to push yourself – To discipline yourself – You are going to continue to rely on your “motivation” and those feelings are going to hold you back from creating success.
Now, there are a few reasons why we procrastinate, and one of those reasons is stress. We continue to seek respite from the stresses that are plaguing us, but then we procrastinate and create more stress that we need a break from. It Is A Vicious Cycle!
We are all inherently lazy.
Freedom comes when you recognize that you are always going to have to push yourself – and this requires discipline.
Everything worthwhile is uphill.
Make your decision and start NOW! Do not wait until tomorrow.
In life we must suffer one of 2 pains: either the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.
~ Jim Rohn
I use this quote everytime I need to change. I repeat it over and over and over in my mind. I ask myself “what do I want? Discipline or Regret? Discipline or Regret? Discipline or Regret?” and guess what, some days I choose regret – and it SUCKS!!!
So instead, You give yourself the count down “5…4…3…2…1” and it is go time!
It takes practice!
“Only 2 kinds of pain” ~ great way to look at things.
